Ten years of diesel rebate pays for most of the truck
One 240 t truck costs A$7.6m and claims A$5.3m of fuel tax credit over ten years.

- Price: US$5.3m delivered and assembled, from 2022–25 mine feasibility studies, at A$1 = US$0.695.
- Fuel tax credit: 165 L an hour × 6,000 hours = 0.99 million litres a year, × 53.7 c/L, over ten years, undiscounted.
Haul trucks run 100,000 hours or more with rebuilds, so ten years understates the credit over a truck’s life.
